Dubai Adventure in the Desert

Room at Movenpick Hotel. Its so spacy and its pinkish! yays! The internet goes on and off, so its quite annoying at times.

Headed to Dubai Mall. Its a taxi ride away from the hotel and costs around 10SGD.

I was aweed by the HUGE aquarium at the mall, and there's people actually diving inside! Everyone was crowding around the aquarium and being fascinated by it!

Thats the ceiling if you raise your head up! Looks like twinkling little stars.

Thats the pizza hut in arabic food. The food in Dubai doesnt look appetizing, and worst still, it doesnt come cheap. I ended up eating at a chinese shop and it looked much nicer than the local food as much as I would wanna try it.

The Gold Souk in the Dubai Mall. Aparently, what I read about it from the net described it to be so amazing, selling gold and all sorta treasures, but when I stepped into it, there's only one stall, those bugis push cart shop selling some accessories. Quite a dissapointment and discrepency from what was being described.

But the architecture inside was worth appreciating.

The next day, headed to Palm Jumeirah. As they said, it like a palm shaped island, but when I was there there's barely nothing interesting. Just a beach and some chairs and appartments, totally snooked. Heard that we could only see the palm shaped of the island if we're across the island atop some high level buildings. Boring much.

The fake infinity pool. hahah

Headed to Dubai Mall again, and here's a HELLO KITTY SHOP in arabic words. I'm amused by how big brands appear in arabic words. Just feels a lil funny.

I've never imagined that buildings here in Dubai would be so high class and futuristic looking! Totally amazed!

The people here are definitely rich.. wowww

This is Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Its the world's tallest manmade structure, standing at 829.84 m in height with more than 160 floors. The design of Burj Khalifa is derived from patterning systems embodied in Islamic architechture. The amazing thing was that a group of window cleaners were actually hung on across the building, cleaning the windows. It must be damn scary.

Its really hard trying to take a pic with the building.

Check out this Limousine. Wonder who this rich oil-digger man is. I should have waited outside the limo and try to know this billionaire!

Headed to the desert tour, where a 4wheel drive drove us 45 mins to the gathering point. It stopped at this souvenier shop where an arab man forefully wrapped this piece of cloth around my head and thereafter keep forcing me to buy at cut-throat price. He cut the price till 15sgd, but I wouldn't think I'd spend it on this piece of cloth that I'd never wear it again. Wear it at the airport? Then u're asking for some attention from the customs people. haha!

Then the 4 wheel drive brings us through a roller coaster ride around the sand dunes, and the view was just breath-taking! Could never imagine that I actually am in a desert!! But when you're in a country with a desert, better grab the chance to visit it!

Thats the vehicles that drives the tourists for the desert tour. The operating company must be earning lots.
Yup, its operated by Lama Tours. Quite reputable I guess since they have quite a huge operations and even a tentage area where there's dinner provided and belly dancing shows to entertain the guests. A truly arabic experience.

Wouldn't mind paying more for the safety cos I've heard of stories that people get kidnapped and thrown to the desert by those taxi uncles. Thats damn scary, imagine being alone in a foreign land in a desert not knowing how to get out of the place? No food, no water, how to survive?!

Cheated by the camel ride. Its only just a round like less than 5 minutes, insead of riding through the desert in the camel.

Its sunset and its beautiful!!

Dinner time. See that angmoh guy with the turban on his head at the back? He's trying to sell to tourists the sand pictured bottle. What a money making scheme. Its kinda unique, but a lil useless lying around in the homes.

The first performance was the belly dancing show, and all the tico indian men started gathering right at the front of the stage to watch the belly girl.

Next, was a performance of this guy swirling his big skirt around, then whipping it up and continued tossing it around and going around the tables, getting everyone excited and wanting to take a picture with him. LOL

Supermarket day. Thats damn a lot of oil
Its so dirt cheap as well, cos there's just alot of oil in Arab.

The camel meat on sale! yeeeeks, how grosss, eating camel meat

Ordered in Lunch from Silver Eagle Restaurant. Aparently, its highly recommended by alot, but..... the food isn't that great.

Don't really like the pilaf rice, jusy not to my appetite. The chicken is a lil tad salty, and the curry chicken is too spicy. Should just stick to asian food/cup noodles.

Movenpick icecream in movenpick hotel. The manager was very nice! He let us test the flavours generously before getting it. Could get full from just the tastings.

Tokyo in Cherry Blossoms

The morning sunrise greeted welcome in the land of the rising sun. Now I know how this name came about. The sunrise is indeed awesome!

The ferris wheel
Morning view from the hotel window. Yawns, time to sleep in!

Ohio-gozaimas! My cutie hello kitty specs!

 Outfit of the day!

Took a Shuttle Bus from the hotel to Shinagawa, where I took the train to the town area - Shinjuku/Shibuya area. I was determined to go to a Park to watch the cherry blossoms since its a rare time i get to be in Tokyo where the beautiful sight comes once a year.

After several attemps of trial and error, I managed to get a SUICA card! Its really confusing using the mchine to get the card cos there's several selections, and being the noobkid first time in Japan, its just trial and error that got me this! Its like an ez-link so it makes travelling around the city easier!

Oooh there's lockers in the train station! Smart Idea, should have some of these in Singapore cos sometimes its just annoying to carry all the barangs all around.

The Japanese are very merticulous. Even the toilets are so well described and decorated.

Interesting promotion ideas along the streets.

Really spoilt for choice with these kinda vending machines all decked out in front of you while you make a selection. Good for consumers, bad for companies trying to capture the attention of the customers. Bad thing! Its really easy for underage xiao-hun-huns to purchase cigs. Even if they needa scan their IDs before being able to get their cigs, they can always borrow it from someone else, or steal their daddy's ID for half a day.

I was famished! Not having eaten anything since touched down. Randomly headed to a food place which sells rice bowls.

Self service at the machine. Again, spoilt for choice! Couldnt decipher anything from the jap words. Could only rely on how yummy the food looked through the pictures to make a decision.

Ordered the pork don. It comes with a bowl of raw eggs, and gotta stir in myself. hmmmm its kinda salty and I don't really like it.

Finally headed to a park in Shinjuku area. Its a 15 mins walk from the station. It was sooooo packed! Partly cos its a weekend and the only week where the flowers blossom!

People were having a nice picnic on the grass patch and enjoying the scenic place and nice weather. What a wonderful place.

Heeheee. Caught snoozing on the grass. They are just some random people.

Was really tight for time, and I headed to shibuya for some shopping. How could one miss out on Shibuya 109 building in Tokyo! There's a Shibuya 109 MEN across the street as well, but well, I'm only interested in women's clothing!

Down the escalator.. I like the Japanese clothings!! Totally my style, but its kinda ex tho!

Ended up, I didn't get any clothing, but just lotsa cosmetics and skincare stuff in one of the shops which is FULL 3 LEVELS selling cosmetics and beauty stuffs. OMG, how to not get stucked there and spend away all my money.

Look at this ad, so cute!

Back to the hotel! Grand Pacific Le Daiba...

Very princessy and european styled hotel. I like!

Thats the statue of liberty near the hotel and the colourful bridge behind.

Managed to get a drink from the vending machine. Its HOT. The coffee in Japan is more milky and much sweeter.
